Here`s where the members of TNS will have access to information concerning Evestus and The New Scum.
Project "Wikipedia" is already in motion thanks to a good man and a great artist Cédrik!
So, like.. what is it? Looking at the influences of Evestus and browsing the internet made me draw some connections with Transmetropolitan. A comic book by Warren Ellis that talks about this doped-up insane journalist (Spider Jerusalem) in the future, who is after truth, justice and sanity. There, the people on the streets, the victims of politics and consumerism etc. are referred as The New Scum.
a quote from Transmetropolitan year 2 issue 19 :
"we need a voice, they say. That`s all. We`re sick of your hate and we don`t need your pity. We need a VOICE.Just for us. All of us. The new scum."
Here`s the Dtrash press sheet introducing Evestus and the release of "Wastelands" album.
This sheet was claimed to have been sent out with copies of the "Wastelands" album to magazines.
Here`s the firs SOLWAIG video (the band Evestus sang in before his solo project) "Conditioned Love" 2002 (right click and save target!)
Another SOLWAIG video, "Freak Off The Leash" 2003 (right click and save target!)
Solwaig was Jan-s (guitar) project. He wrote the music and took Evestus onboard to be a vocalist. Evestus also wrote all the lyrics. Solwaig became inactive during 2006 but the band has not yet officially confirmed a break-up. Evestus won`t comment the situation either. It`s interesting however, that Jan has been mentioned on Evestus homepage as a session bassist and part of The New Scum...
_Solwaig released two last songs in june 2007
Fake and Frail
Alone
Did you know that Evestus first album "Destiny in Life" has samples taken from "Invader Zim", "The Maxx", "Bad Armitage", "They Live", "Aqua Teen Hunger Force", "Nightmare before Christmas", "Fight Club", "Taxi Driver", "Star Wars", "2 Stupid Dogs", "Mean Girls", "Airheads" and a Mindless Self Indulgence song "J"? I know there`s probably more that I just cant put my finger on... I think these are like hints of what made him who he is or something. I think a lot of parallels can be drawn between some of these movies and cartoons and what The New Scum is about!
PS. If anyone for any reason doesn`t know - "Destiny in Life" was released as a free-downloadable- mp3 album : download here!
A limited amount of hard-copy cd-s were released aswell.. but that was ,like.. 200 copies or so. These ought to be worth a bunch one day! |
